One table. Two activities. A very happy Halloween.

A small-space Halloween gathering built around a paper pumpkin studio and a cooperative picture hunt.

Choose a clear beginning and ending

Decide how long the gathering should last before choosing activities. For a small group, a flexible 90-minute plan gives people time to settle, make something, pause, and play. Share the approximate finish time with guests and make costumes optional. A celebration can feel festive without anyone buying an outfit.

Set up one craft station

Use one table covering and place paper, markers, and glue in the center. Put scissors with the adult helping with preparation. Make one paper pumpkin yourself to understand the sequence, then prepare extra circles so guests can begin with the enjoyable part. Offer a flat name card as an alternative for anyone who finds folding frustrating.

Keep the hunt cooperative

Print the Little Boo picture hunt from the project library. Walk the route before anyone arrives, remove hazards, and choose reachable hiding places. Give one clue to the group at a time rather than setting children against each other. An adult can carry the pictures to a guest who prefers staying seated. The shared finish might be a story, a drawing, or choosing the next song.

Give the host a stopping point

Prepare snacks before the activity begins and confirm dietary needs with adults in advance. Keep food away from adhesive and craft scraps. Ask one willing helper to handle drinks and another to collect used paper. Build in a quiet break; continuing the activity is optional, not a test of enthusiasm.

Keep one thing for next year

After the gathering, write down which activity people chose and what was unnecessary. Save the reusable supplies together. Put the paper pumpkin pattern and host route in the same folder so a future party begins with a usable plan instead of another search.
